3/14/12 - ESM Cable Corp™ announces its own low-loss, phase stable cable.The EW150 cable is optimized for 40GHZ, and is ideal for phase critical applications for the mil/aero and test & measurement markets.

The cable construction is a silver plated copper center conductor with low density ePTFE tape for 84% velocity of propagation. The outer conductor is a SPC tape surrounded by a 95 %, SPC round braid for improved shielding.This coverage greatly reduces cable leakage, offering +100 dB shielding effectiveness. The cable is protected with a proprietary ESM charcoal clear FEP jacket for a tough low profile, low visibility chemical resistant protection.

Utlizing low density PTFE tape dielectric construction, the cable has the advantage of being lower loss, higher power, lighter weight, smaller diameter, and increase phase stability over temperature when compared to other manufacturer extruded PTFE dielectric cables.

The increased phase stability, rated at 600pm over a temperature range of -55 to + 120C, is less susceptibility to electrical length changes through temperature variation, leading to more consistent results and less down-time re-calibrating systems. Combined with the outer shield construction, which is phase stable over flexure, < 2 degree at 18 GHz and 5 degrees at 40 GHz, the EW150 offers a new solution for phase critical applications.

The EW510 cable is terminated to the following connector options; SMA, 3.5mm, and 2.9mm.
